Junior Saints
SaintsRLFC.com was developed by Bitopia as a one-stop location for all St Helens Rugby Leage supporters and serves as the official website for the Super League side. The club wanted a new site which would target its younger supporters in the community and provide them with the same level of information but on a more interactive scale.
Bitopia proposed a tailored solution for the new club website which would be colourful, friendly and intuitive. The design was centered around a carousel of sliding content minimising page loading and creating a more user-friendly experience.
A powerful management system was integrated into Junior Saints to allow page, game, news and blog updates. The system provided a Microsoft Word style interface and supported the importing of content from external documents.
One of the main problems faced when creating such a solution was maintaining a simple yet aesthetically pleasing design which would appeal to the children of St Helens. The notion of a carousel was introduced as a simple method of navigation which could be used by all users visiting the website.
The management system was developed as a method of updating the various aspects of the site. It allowed new Flash games to be created, blogs, news and articles on health to be maintained and a daily message to be inserted. As with any management application the main concern was for Bitopia to keep it intuitive, requiring minimal training for the user to make changes.
Upon completion, the Junior Saints website had a fully managed blog, tips on staying healthy, a news reel, a dedicated section for games and all the latest news on Saints RLFC and its players.
