Challenge St Helens Takes Shape

After months of behind the scenes work organising key partners, media partners, planning approvals, branding, registration systems, charities, insurance, stewarding... the list goes on... we are very excited to announce that the marketing campaign for Challenge St Helens 2008 has started in earnest and with the website now open for online registrations, the web registrations are coming in thick and fast.

Challenge St Helens is a Charity Fund Raising Event organised by Bitopia and made possible with the generous contributions of our Key Partners - Pilkington UK, Halton & St Helens NHS PCT, Church Square Shopping Centre, Mayfield and James Edwards Land Rover. Our Media Partners St Helens Star and Wish FM have been very generous in helping to create awareness of Challenge St Helens through their respective media channels.

The aim of Challenge St Helens is to create a fantastic family day out with a selection of fun health and wellbeing related attractions centred around a 5K Race for the over 12's and a 1K Family Fun Run for the under 12's and their parents/guardians. All runners will have the opportunity to raise sponsorship money that will be donated directly to their choice of one of our three nominated charities namely, Friends of Mulanje Orphans, Willowbrook Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The fun starts from 10am on Sunday 14th September with the racing getting under way from 1pm. A total of 2000 people of mixed abilities are expected to take part in the running with a further 2000 people anticipated to come along and offer their support and enjoy the day.

Entry Fees are £10 per person for the 5K Race and £3 per person for the 1K Family Fun Run.
